Tuesday Top 5 - Book Series - Inter-Country Adoption

A day late, here is this week’s Tuesday Top 5. So far in my Tuesday Top 5 Book Series, I have shared the top five books for attaching in adoption (along with some bonus suggestions) and domestic adoption. This week is the top five for Inter-Country or International Adoption.
As I have said before, some of the books will overlap because often those who adopt from another country are adopting trans-culturally as well as trans-racially. I am only listing books for inter-country adoption in general rather than books about specific countries. If you want to read more about a specific country do a search at Amazon for book ideas or ask for recommendations in the forums specific to the country that peaked your interest.
- Beyond Good Intentions : A Mother Reflects On Raising Internationally Adopted Children by Cheri Register
- Inside Transracial Adoption by Gail Steinberg & Beth Hall
- Adoption Parenting : Creating a Toolbox, Building Connections edited by Jean MacLeod and Sheena Macrae
- The Handbook of International Adoption Medicine : A Guide for Physicians, Parents, and Providers by Laurie C. Miller
- The Complete Book of International Adoption : A Step by Step Guide to Finding Your Child by Dawn Davenport
Next week I will cover Trans-racial Adoption. A couple of the books I will share are from the point of view of adults who were adopted as children, which I believe is a very important point of view to consider when learning about raising a child of another race from your own.
